FAQs for Murder Virgins
Your first body is always the hardest
Nobody arrives knowing how this works. Here's everything you were too cool to ask before buying a ticket.
You arrive, you get a character or a set of clues, and you spend the evening inside a story instead of watching one. You'll mingle with the suspects, poke at their alibis, compare notes with strangers who become co-conspirators, and eventually make an accusation. Then we reveal who did it — and everyone finds out how badly they were played.
No. You can go full theatre-kid or you can nurse a drink in the corner and quietly out-detective the whole room. Both work. Our Interactive Mystery format hands roles to guests who want them; our Actor Mystery Events bring a professional cast so you can simply investigate.
Plan on about two hours of mystery. Private bookings are listed at two hours, and public shows typically run from a check-in and mingling window through the reveal. Individual event pages list the exact start time for that night.
Costumes are highly suggested and always rewarded with attention. Themed shows like The Vampyre's Ball are built for people who own a velvet cape and have been waiting for an excuse. If you'd rather not, come as you are — nobody gets turned away for wearing jeans.
It depends entirely on the venue. Many of our public shows are hosted at breweries and taprooms where you buy from the bar, and some — such as The Vampyre's Ball: The Garden of Earthly Delights in Midland, TX — include a full dinner in the ticket price. Check the individual event page before you eat beforehand.
Yes, and you'll have company within ten minutes. Public shows sell solo tickets and duo tickets, and the format forces conversation — you cannot solve the thing without talking to people.
It's a thriller, not a haunted house. Nobody jumps out at you. Expect atmosphere, suspicion, dark comedy and a body that is very much fictional.
At many shows, yes — our Top Detective contest recognises the guest who cracks the case. Details are announced at the event.
That's most of what we do. Birthdays, corporate parties, fundraisers, breweries, retirement communities, graduation parties — we've done all of them. Packages start at $600 for up to 30 guests. Head to Book a Case for the full list.
Every upcoming show on the Live Cases page links straight to its ticket page. Popular dates do sell out, and several shows offer early-bird pricing that ends well before the show date.
Murder Girl Podcast: Suspects Welcome is our own show — interviews with authors, performers and delightfully strange local characters, plus behind-the-scenes footage from our productions. Watch it on the Murder Girl page.
Our loyalty program. You earn points for signing up, following along, buying tickets and booking events, then trade them for discounts on tickets, merch and private bookings. Tiers run from Murder Virgin up to Detective Extraordinaire.
